Clinical Psychologist and Board approved supervisor
Dr. Stephanie Helfer
Senior Clinical Psychologist

Stephanie Helfer Consulting appreciates the importance of expert supervision for a clinician's professional growth and development. Education has always been of utmost importance to Senior Clinical Psychologist Dr Stephanie Helfer who draws on her own professional journey and early experiences as a clinician to ensure she delivers exceptional supervision to those requesting her services.

Dr Stephanie Helfer started her career as a clinical psychologist working in a demographically disadvantaged suburb of Sydney Australia. Providing accessible mental health support to  disadvantaged and vulnerable clients has always been a priority of her work. The high volume of incredibly complex presentations encouraged Dr Stephanie Helfer's own search for the support of expert clinical supervision. Over the years, Dr Stephanie Helfer sought supervision from high profile international academics and highly experienced senior clinicians. The support and mentorship she received highlighted  for her the value of supervision, the importance of ongoing professional development and the professional growth and opportunities that came with this. Dr Stephanie Helfer subsequently moved into the public sector where she has now worked for over 10 years. She is now the Sydney Children's Hospital  Network Complex Cases and Complex Trauma Clinical Consultant offering expert consultation to the hospital inpatient units, to the Department of Psychological Medicine outpatient clinics, to the hospital's Child Protection Unit, Adolescent Medicine Department and the Network's Emergency Departments. Dr. Stephanie Helfer is a consultant to policy makers within NSW Health, to the Department of Education,  Department of Communities and Justice as well as non-government agencies.
